With the advent of websites such as LinkedIn ™, Facebook ™, MySpace ™, Twitter ™, so now there are more ways than ever to build your brand, your hand and "touch" customers and prospects, generate traffic to your business and course, increase sales.

The problem? Many companies have preconceived notions about the creation of social networks that prevents them from taking advantage of what could make a huge difference to your bottom line. It’s time to demystify Social Media Marketing

Social Media Myth # 1 – Social Sites For Teens Only

Nothing could be further from the truth. While some sites like YouTube ™ and others that were originally created to deal exclusively with adolescents, many of them are now attracting major participants.

And although there are literally thousands of social sites out there today, once you determine the goals and objectives of their efforts the media can reduce the list to a few who will focus on its target market.

Myth # 2 Social Media – Media, is just a fad

When he first arrived at the scene to the Internet is providing information and sale of "things". And while it is still a large part, the Web 2.0 is about all the users who interact with each other and the content generated by consumers.

6 of 10 sites in the world are places that are receiving social and 1 billion visitors each month and each time I guarantee this is not a fad. This is the Web 2.0, the future! And the best part is that you have the opportunity to know and participate
that while it is still relatively new.

Social Media Myth # 3 – Strategies for Social Enterprise Only

Internet is the great equalizer. You are what your customers and prospects see, hear and read online. If you make great products or provide services and large, you can reach the right audience through a strategy of forcing the media, then your company will benefit from greater exposure, greater brand awareness and of course increase in sales.

My advice is not to worry about what they are doing great, do you have to do to grow your business and believe me we need to do the mass media marketing. Media is a great "guerrilla marketing" tool that can take advantage and begin to reap the benefits of high speed.

Social Media Myth # 4 – Social Media Marketing will cost lots of money to implement

The good news is that the creation and implementation of social-media marketing plan does not have to cost much money. As a matter of fact the majority of social media sites cost nothing to join.

Now do not get me wrong, as with anything, you certainly have to devote an adequate amount of time and resources to be effective, but in reality difficult to dollars and cents, its
investment may be minimal.

Social Media Myth # 5 – Social Media Marketing is mainly used to find friends and share video and photos

Although YouTube ™, Flickr ™, Facebook ™ and other similar sites are actually used to find friends and share experiences, photos and videos, many with experience in marketing that can be found
connect with the groups, users, and enthusiastic fans.

How? By providing free information that members might find useful or enhance your experience. These types of sites should not be overlooked as a way to open dialogs with their 2-way target market

Social Media Myth # 6 – you have to be a computer or marketing Whiz Geek effectively use the media

Again, not true. If you can surf the Internet, buy a book from Amazon and read blogs, you have the skills necessary to benefit from the media. Frankly, the most important thing you need to help your company to participate in social media marketing is the desire to learn and time to implement some very basic ideas and strategies.

Now, there are more advanced features in some of these sites? Sure, but even those can be implemented simply by asking current users or reading the instructions that many of the sites themselves. I tell you, this is not rocket science!
