Sign-A-Rama Opens In Brighton Area

A grand opening with ribbon-cutting ceremony takes place from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Sign-A-Rama, 5050 S. Old U.S. 23 in Brighton Township. The ribbon-cutting ceremony begins at 11 a.m. The event includes lunch, networking, and door-prize drawings.

Chamber Offers Details On Benefits

The Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce offers a free refresher course on chamber benefits from 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday at the chamber offices, 131 Hyne St. in Brighton.

Members will meet leaders of various business programs, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network, Accident Fund workers’ compensation insurance, AAA Michigan and Comcast Business Class.

Networking Groups Meet Up Saturday

The Ultimate Power Networking Event takes place from 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday at the American Spirit Centre, east of U.S. 23 at 10590 E. Grand River Ave. in Brighton Township.

The free event will feature all business networking groups in Livingston County and Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce members.

Each group will have an opportunity to present a pitch on highlights and benefits of business association. Each group is also asked to bring a dish to pass for a continental-type breakfast.

Market Hosts Free Pancake Breakfast

The Natural View Market in Brighton hosts a free pancake breakfast with gluten-free pancakes and french toast from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday. The store is at 128 W. Main St. in Brighton.

Dinner, Dancing Aid Dental Clinic

Tickets are on sale for an evening of dinner and dancing that will benefit VINA Community Dental Center, a nonprofit dental clinic in Brighton. The event is set for Saturday at Lakelands Golf and Country Club, north of Winans Lake Road at 8760 Chilson Road in Hamburg Township.

The evening begins with cocktails at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $75 per person. The event raises money for supplies and helps pay for staff.

Workshop Tackles Internet Marketing

Livingston Tech Connect offers an educational workshop on search-engine optimization and Internet marketing, presented by Steve Szettella of 4word Systems, from 3:30-5 p.m. Tuesday at The Brighton House, 10180 E. Grand River Ave. in Brighton Township.

The presentation will be followed by a networking mingler until 6 p.m.

Borders Celebrates ‘Lightning Thief’

Borders Books and Music at 8101 Movie Drive in Brighton prepares for the opening of the first Percy Jackson movie, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief,” from the children’s adventure and fantasy book series based on Greek mythology by Rick Riordan.

Games, trivia challenge, a debate, drawing activities and prizes begin at 2 p.m. Saturday. The event is free and recommended for children ages 7 and older.
